Yapak Beach

also called Puka Shell Beach, is with 800 meters one of the larger Boracay beaches, facing Carabao island to the North. Puka Shell beach was made famous by the shiny white Puka shells; the rage in the fashion jewelry in the 70’s and early 80’s. Collecting these shells was the first industry of the island. Today one can still find remnants of the mounds of Puka shells that were washed ashore.

Beaches

Boracay has more than a dozen unique beaches and many coves. All of them have the powdery white sand that has made the island famous around the world. The most popular beach is the almost four kilometer long White Beach. The White Beach is the ‘heart’ of Boracay Island, with most resorts located along or near the White Beach. The central stretch of the White Beach is the ‘entertainment and shopping center’ with an interesting mix of resorts and hotels, restaurants and shopping.

Bulabog Beach

comes alive during by December of each year when windsurfers skim through its waters. Amateurs and professionals take advantage of the strong winds as they race from one end to the other, truly a kite surfers and windsurfer\'s paradise. The Boracay International Funboard Cup has been held here since 1988 and is now a leg of the Asian Windsurfing Tour.
